Chai Hot Cocoa (Vegan + Dairy-Free)

Yo, yo, yo... or should I say ho, ho, ho get ready this amazing, sweet, delicious, creamy Chai Hot Cocoa.

If you live in the upper northern hemisphere then you know that it is starting to get real cold, real fast. I am talking all the way up to chilly town.

You know wearing knit sweaters, layers upon layers of jackets, wondering why you still live somewhere so cold.

Well, at least those are my thoughts every year around this time.

On a side note, do you ever see people around who wear just one light... let's call it a spring coat and think they are some Viking because they can take the cold weather like a champ.

Yeah, not me. I always looked at them in confusion. So, I'll stick over here with my hot cocoa, which has become quite the morning staple for me recently.

I love the richness, the sweetness, all the benefits that come with cacao to start my day.

Why I am loving Cacao:

  • Rich in antioxidants

  • Helps reduce inflammation

  • Improves blood flow

  • Improves Mood

  • Help reduce muscles cramps (hello ladies I am talking to you on this one)

I could give you another 12 reasons why it is such a poppin' ingredient, but I don't want to take too much of your time. I mean we got to co-coa.

Did that work? I really hope it did.

But you can see there are so many positives to consuming chocolate that you may have never even thought of. No, I am not saying go chow down on some chocolate bar every time you are feeling sad, but rather noticing the benefits of consuming foods that can make you feel good on the regular. Not just because your coworker or friend said some annoying thing.

Alright, so why is this Chai Hot Cocoa all the rage?

  1. Dairy-Free. Go ahead and use any type of non-dairy milk that you love. I prefer almond milk, but if oat or soy is more your thing, go for it.

  2. Simple. All you need are 4 basic ingredients for this. Yep, that is it.

  3. Unique flavors. Something about chai spices mixed with chocolate is so perfect. Think of it as a dash of excellence.

Some Final Thoughts & Tips:

  • Additions: If you want, you can add some vegan marshmallows, vegan whipped cream, or even a cinnamon stick to the cocoa!

  • How much does this make? Well, that depends on how much you are going to drink. This recipe is good for about one serving for me, but if you want a little less, this could also serve about two people.
