Stop monkeying around and let’s dig into this Vegan Monkey Bread!
Pushing my bad puns to the side, we can all appreciate the delicacy of bread. The sweet aroma, light & fluffy texture. Ah, what is more to say?
No wonder this food has been around for centuries. As you may know, I have a series on Under the Willow Tree called the Vegan Test Kitchen. This series is solely dedicated to following my intuition in creating recipes on the spot with YOU in the kitchen. So far in this series, I have pretty much only been experimenting with gluten-free baking. I love doing this because it allows me to harness and add more cooking and baking skills to my tool belt. I kid you not it can be quite challenging. However, I decided to put that on hold because I was craving some bread with gluten.
Following my instincts, I made this glorious bread from traditional wheat flour.
Note: You could try substituting the wheat flour with Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour and a little Xantham Gum.
Below I show you photos of what the bread looks like before it rises, when it is risen, and when it is freshly baked. My favorite thing about baking with gluten is watching it rise. Why? I don't know it's just kind of exciting.
This homemade monkey bread is perfectly sweet and requires ONLY 7 ingredients. You read that right, it is that simple! This sweet and gooey treat easily pulls apart to reveal a light and fluffy inside.
